Liverpool Chamber unveils 2024 Awards winners

Logistics, healthcare, tourism and performing arts were among the many sectors represented by the winners of this year’s Liverpool Chamber Innovation in Business Awards.

The winners of 13 separate categories were announced last night at a glittering ceremony attended by more than 400 city region business leaders at St George’s Hall in Liverpool.

Among those were Leafyard, which won the Innovative Product or Service Award for their mental health software, and Trinity Logistics, winner of the International Award.

Two separate awards for Business of the Year (over and under 30 employees) were presented to print specialist Oriel Studios and windows manufacturer Warwick North West, respectively.

Young Person of the Year was awarded to Lucky Ali, founder of community cafe and hub Lucky’s Cafe+, while Dr Becky Jones-Phillips from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine received the Leadership Innovation Award.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport won the Customer Excellence Award and also received the Chair’s Award on the night for its contribution to the city region’s tourism sector. Novotel Paddington Village was named New Business of the Year.

Experience Provider of the Year went to Liverpool Empire Theatre and branded merchandise specialist Wild Thang won in the Sustainable Business category.

The University of Liverpool was recognised in the Talent Development category for its Design Your Future programme and The City of Liverpool College won Skills Provider of the Year.

Third sector organisations Everton In The Community and Nugent won the awards for Innovation in Health and Wellbeing and Social Impact respectively, and were joined on the winner’s podium by Liverpool FC podcast collective The Anfield Wrap, which claimed the Community Impact Award.

Paul Cherpeau, chief executive of Liverpool Chamber, said:

“The wide variety of business types and sectors in this year’s shortlist, and among the eventual winners, is a clear reflection of the breadth of talent and expertise in the Liverpool City Region economy.

“We have ambitious young businesses, established SMEs, world-class pioneers and community innovators, all within one bustling ecosystem, and these awards are an important recognition of their individual and collective contributions to the city region landscape.

“As we approach our 175th anniversary, it is important that we remain attuned to the changing needs of businesses in an ever-shifting economic climate. It was great to share the evening with so many enterprising organisations, hear more about their experiences and help them to further expand their own professional networks and impact.”
