“Without you, we could not do what we do for our children and families.”

Lewis Croft from Claire House Children’s Hospice highlights just some of the ways corporate volunteering can make a real difference.

This year, Claire House Children’s Hospice have been incredibly fortunate to have welcomed 24 local businesses into Claire House Liverpool who have volunteered their time as part of their CSR policy and undertake a corporate volunteer day.

Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children make the most of the time they have however long or short that may be. By providing specialist nursing and end of life care, as well as emotional support Claire House helps families through some of the toughest times of their lives.

Claire House Liverpool, is tucked away behind Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School in what some people will remember as the Carmelite Monastery in West Derby. The stunning building opened in 1905 and was at one time home to 100 nuns. Today, Claire House Liverpool is used by our children and families offering day care, complementary therapies, clinics, play and music sessions and counselling.

An incredible 212 passionate corporate volunteers have helped us to ensure that Claire House Liverpool remains a wonderful place for our children and families. Collectively over a staggering 1020 volunteering hours of working in the garden, painting walls, ceiling and doors alongside essential maintenance of the site has taken place.

Alongside corporate volunteering at Claire House Liverpool, we have been able to offer the opportunities to volunteer at a variety of our events and challenges including the Mowgli Dog Show, Lantern walk and our very first Claire Bear 3K fun run!

In 2024, our new retail store on Great Homer Street will be home to a distribution centre, which, will give Claire House additional opportunities for corporate volunteering to really help make a positive difference to the lives of our children and families.

We are incredibly grateful for all of the help and support throughout this year Claire House has received from the business community. Without you, we could not do what we do for our children and families. It really does mean so much to us all here and we want to thank every single business that has helped Claire House Children’s Hospice.
