Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity – Bereavement Suite Appeal

This unique charity appeal aims to transform clinical rooms on both our Gynaecology and Maternity wards into comfortable, home-like spaces to be used by families who have sadly experienced a pregnancy loss or still birth. The rooms will allow families to stay together in peaceful surroundings to make special memories, away from the bustle of the rest of the hospital whilst being supported by the hospital’s nurses, doctors and Honeysuckle Team.

Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity have now raised £75,000 of its £100,000 target for this appeal, we desperately need a further £25,000 to transform these important spaces. We’d love to talk to you if you can help us cross that finishing line in 2024!

Lynsay and Daniel’s story

“Our beautiful son Noah was born at 24 weeks on 15 February 2022. When Noah was born he was transferred to the Neonatal unit to be stabilised, where we met lots of amazing consultants and Tom a Neonatal nurse. Tom explained what would happen next. He was incredible, he understood our pain and did all he could to reassure us. Initially, Noah coped well with the interventions but heartbreakingly Noah started to deteriorate and passed away at 15 days old.

“The LWH team were amazing, they stepped in and helped us to process what had happened. Our consultant Fauzia stayed with us and explained everything. She was so caring and compassionate. It was beyond hard to take in, but the team made sure they stayed and supported us and answered our questions. We stayed in the Honeysuckle bereavement room with Noah, and we were truly grateful for that time with him. The Bereavement suite appeal will make a huge difference to families such as ours, who need the space to grieve and say goodbye.
Liverpool Women’s Hospital will always hold a very special place in my heart, and we are so grateful of the support we have received. Everyday I drive past the hospital on my way to work and blow a kiss to Noah’s window. It will always be our place we had together.

“Thank you for your support”
