Students studying Hospitality and Catering at Hugh Baird College’s L20 Hotel School will have the opportunity to cook alongside some of the UK’s finest chefs next month, including Masterchef: The Professionals winner, Louise Ellis.
Students studying Hospitality and Catering at Hugh Baird College’s L20 Hotel School will have the opportunity to cook alongside some of the UK’s finest chefs next month, including Masterchef: The Professionals winner, Louise Ellis.
Liverpool chef Eddie Kilty is organising a charity dinner called the “Collective Dinner” on 25 April 2023 at the College’s L20 Restaurant to raise funds for Sepsis UK, a charity close to his heart.
The evening will begin with canapés curated by Anthony Wright, head chef of L20 Restaurant, and his students. The London Carriage Works junior sous chef, Michael O’Donohoe, will prepare the amuse bouche, while Stephen Terry, owner of The Hardwick in Abergavenny, will create the starter. Andrew Pern, head chef and owner of 1 Michelin Star restaurant, The Star Inn at Harome, will cook the fish course, and Kilty will prepare the main course.
The event aims to raise awareness about sepsis and support Sepsis UK’s work, a particularly important cause to Kilty as his mother died from sepsis three years ago. The evening will include a charity raffle with the chance to win prizes, such as a night in the Hilton Hotel Liverpool.

The Collective Dinner follows the success of a similar event in March 2022 that raised money for So Let’s Talk, a charity focused on hospitality and mental health. Kilty, who has worked with Michelin-starred chefs such as Andrew Pern and Tom Kerridge, founded the Collective Dinner series to bring together top chefs to raise funds for good causes.
The event will take place at L20 Restaurant, Exeter Road, Bootle L20 7EW, and tickets cost £60, with all proceeds going directly to Sepsis UK. Dietary requirements cannot be met due to the nature of the evening. To book your place, visit the event’s website here.
