The Liverpool interns programme is designed to connect students and graduates with SMEs to enhance their skill sets and give them real work experience.
Overview
Connecting graduates in the Liverpool City Region with local SMEs
Love Liverpool? Want to see the city flourish, and at the same time, accelerate your career?
LCR Grad Scheme joined up with a host of exciting companies based in Liverpool who are on the up, and on the hunt for talented grads.
Their team will help place you with the company and the job that is right for you.
The internships require a total of 100 hours work and are paid at £10 per hour.
The 100 hours can be completed full-time over a three week period, or on a part time basis in term time to fit with studies.
How it works
There are two streams available, Marketing and Business Operations and Technical.
Which path will you take?
The Marketing and Business Operations Stream is open to grads from ALL degree disciplines with an interest in pursuing a career with a marketing focus. The Technical Stream will require more specific qualifications, in areas like Engineering, Computer Science and more. For more details on Technical roles available, please see job descriptions.
Application & Assessment
Once you’ve chosen a stream, there is a short application and assessment process.
Assessment Centres will include interviews and a group exercise. If you require any reasonable adjustments or advice on the application process, we are here to help!
LCR Grad Scheme’s recruitment processes are managed by a team at The University of Liverpool, a Disability Confident employer. Applicants who disclose a disability and meet all eligibility criteria will be guaranteed the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities at video interview stage.*

Finding Your SME
If you’re successful at the assessment centre, you’ll be invited to attend final-round interviews. Our team will help you find the role that best fits your talents, personality and career aspirations.
Induction
After receiving an offer from one of the registered SMEs to join the LCR Grad Scheme, you’ll attend a two-day induction where you will start your training and meet your fellow LCR Grads. Your Grad Scheme starts here!
Professional Development
You will be enrolled on a six-month professional development programme to accelerate your progression within your role. And in the first year of your role, you will complete an additional NVQ qualification in an area which will benefit your new company.
