Wild Thang are incredibly proud as a team to have won the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce International Award 2021, which took place at the Innside Hotel by Melia Liverpool on the 18th November.
As for many businesses 2020/21 has been a rollercoaster ride and the most challenging year in our 25 year history, so when we found out we had won this high profile award it really did fill our team with pride. This was part public
vote and part expert business panel vote which gives a really balanced vote for a deserving winner, this time it happened to be world class Wild Thang!
Andrew Dwerryhouse, Wild Thang MD commented:
“It was a fantastic evening and to win the International Award is super special, it made me think back to what was a perfect storm, I clearly remember when the pandemic hit and sales fell off a cliff for many areas of our business, but we were determined as a team that we would not be defined as a company by our incomplete development, covid or Brexit so we adapted quickly to ensure we could not only survive, but also thrive as a team and company, so makes this is an incredibly special moment because its recognition at the highest level in the Liverpool city region.
The first thing Wild Thang want to say is a big thank you to those who voted but especially the commitment shown by our team, clients and suppliers, all of who made this award possible because we know
a companies real success is never built by one individual or one dept, but truly by a team effort. The Chamber did an incredible job delivering this important awards dinner to showcase the best businesses the LCR has to offer. Big congratulations to all the winners and category nominees & what was just as fantastic to see were lots of clients we deal with nominated and winning awards which is a reminder of how we are the leading company in our sector in the Liverpool City Region, hopefully there will be many more awards to come in 2022.
We are proud to have retained all of our staff throughout this challenging time and have now already added 8 new staff to our team over the past month in preparation for that projected growth. Export growth was highlighted in the supporting finalist evidence and our plans to grow turnover and our exports by 20-25% in 2022, so we have never been more excited about the future as a team.
Wild Thang also recently participated in a LCC video that highlighted our Brexit challenge and highlighted how we have adapted as a company and team, we genuinely hope this will help inspire other businesses. I may have collected the award on the evening along with Operations Director Chris Dwerryhouse, but whoever collects the awards is only ever doing so on behalf of the entire Wild Thang team.”
The Liverpool Chamber of Commerce commented :
“The Chamber is delighted to have recognised the achievements of Wild Thang at our Innovation in Business Awards. Our independent judging panel highlighted the
company’s success in international business development alongside its broader response to the pandemic.”
