Liverpool Watersports Centre is ready to make a splash this Eurovision

As Liverpool prepares itself for the arrival of the spectacular Eurovision Song Contest this year, Local Solutions Liverpool Watersports Centre is gearing up for a summer full of waves of excitement for all to enjoy.

Based on the famous Queens Dock, Liverpool Watersports Centre is a not for profit and a part of the charity Local Solutions, with the aim to make watersports accessible for all by providing a variety of affordable activities for individuals and groups. There is a real buzz in the air as the centre is looking forward to welcoming visitors, super fans, artists and media from all over the world.

Liverpool Watersports Centre offers a wide range of activities, including paddleboarding, open-water swimming, power boating, kayaking and canoes, and an impressive Aqua Park.

The aqua park boasts 12 pieces of equipment, including a catapult swing, water trampolines, slides, monkey bars, a spinning rocket and big slides, plus a see-saw and various climbing apparatus. It’s open now and will remain so throughout the summer months, with money from ticket sales invested back into Local Solutions, so its charitable work across the Liverpool City Region and North Wales can continue.

Tom Harrison, Chief Executive at Local Solutions said:

“Eurovision is about unity and bringing communities and cultures together. We’re looking forward to welcoming people and families from near and far throughout the Eurovision season to Liverpool Watersports Centre, and re-investing some of the money raised from ticket sales back into funding the life-changing work we do.”

Local Solutions are a major charity who have operated across Merseyside and North Wales for almost 50 years, driven by a vision for a society where all people can live with dignity, lead fulfilled lives and realise their full potential. Their mission is to empower people and support communities, which they do through work in social care, support and accommodation plus community endeavours.

A major aspect of this support is provided through the not-for-profit Liverpool Watersports Centre, which the charity leases from the Canal & River Trust, and all proceeds from activities go back into directly funding the incredible work Local Solutions do across their vast array of services.
